Media Framer – Quick Guide

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 7 views

Drop a GIF or short video below, pick a look, optionally choose a background track, and download the framed result. Everything happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded to our servers.

  1. Drop your file into the box (GIF, MP4, MOV or WebM up to 200 MB, approximately 3 minutes).
  2. Pick a preset or tweak the border, shadow, caption and logo. The preview updates as you type.
  3. Choose an aspect ratio if you need a specific shape (square for Instagram, vertical 9:16 for Stories / Reels / TikTok, widescreen 16:9 for YouTube). Use the Focus sliders to decide which part of a wide clip is kept when it’s cropped into a tall shape, or vice versa.
  4. (Optional) Add music from the Music picker. Hit Sample to hear a 15-second preview, then drag the volume to taste. Music is mixed into your clip when you export as video, any original audio is replaced by the chosen track.
  5. Click Export. Choose WebM video for modern browsers and websites, or GIF for email and older chat apps.

Good to know:

  • GIFs are silent; the Music picker only applies when you export as WebM video.
  • Browser support: WebM video export works in Chrome, Edge and Firefox. On older Safari, pick GIF instead.
  • iPhone .mov files sometimes look sideways in the preview. If that happens, open the clip in the Photos app, tap Edit, Done (without changing anything) to bake the rotation in, and drop that file back in.
  • Privacy: your file never leaves your browser. Close the tab, and it’s gone.
